Hi! i'm Alyssa, your newborn & family photographer
I’m Alyssa, the heart behind Where She Blooms Photography and motherhood is at the very center of my why.
My journey into this work was shaped first by longing. Before welcoming my son in 2021, we spent 13 months trying to conceive, a season marked by hope, waiting and pregnancy loss. That time changed the way I hold motherhood and memory. It taught me how fragile becoming can be, how deeply desire can live in the body and how sacred each moment is when a child finally stays.
When my son arrived, it was through an emergent cesarean, an experience that no one should experience. It showed me how complex birth can be, how strength often looks different than we imagine and how profoundly birth stories stay with us long after the moment has passed.
Motherhood softened and expanded me in ways I couldn’t have imagined. It slowed me down. It opened my eyes to the quiet magic, the way tiny hands reach for comfort, the way love lives in the everyday, the way a season can feel both fleeting and eternal all at once.
And then, in 2024, life surprised us again. What began as an unexpected pregnancy became the joyful, overwhelming news that we were welcoming twins. That season also brought healing, I was able to experience a successful, blissful VBAC. Although they arrived almost 8 weeks early, their birth was calm, powerful and deeply affirming, reshaping the way I understand birth, strength, and trust in the process.
Becoming a mother of three deepened everything, fuller, messier, louder and more tender. It reshaped not only my family, but the way I see the families I photograph.
I am deeply passionate about honoring the full spectrum of motherhood, from trying to conceive and pregnancy to birth, breastfeeding and the slow unfolding of life at home. These experiences are not just milestones; they are sacred work. They deserve to be documented with gentleness, respect and care.
Photography, for me, is not about perfection or posing. It’s about presence. It’s about holding space for your story exactly as it is, because I know firsthand how quickly it can change, how precious it is simply to be here, living it.
Where She Blooms was created from my own lived motherhood, from waiting, loss, intervention, healing and love multiplied. And if you find yourself here, in a season that feels tender, complicated, or full, I want you to know you don’t have to hold it alone.
When we work together, my hope is that you feel seen, supported and deeply honored in the season you’re in. That your story is met with care and preserved with intention. It would be a true honor to walk alongside you and help you remember this chapter, exactly as it blooms.
Xoxo, Alyssa
